I keep working on the paper. Currently, I am working on a 2D triangular Heisenberg antiferromagnet. I have spent almost 7 years finishing this paper since when I asked my collaborator to make the samples for me. Sorry for the delay. Since then I have collected a lot of data, now it is ready to publish. After seven years, the project has no advantage compared to my competitors but I should finish this anyways. I think I still have something to say as new findings. Let’s finish this paper and keep going.
I am investing. While investing money, I research about the money. From Rich dad and Poor dad to the intelligent investor by Benjamin Graham, these books taught me a lot. Also, I have learnt many things from people around me. Nowadays, Youtube is a nice resource to learn. I always learn something. Anyways, I am not born rich so making some money takes a long time. I should be a long term investor but sometimes I just forget. Anyways, in one of the Youtube video, I have a favourite investor who leads his own fund. He always has a positive view of the world. I like him. The fund is in Japan, unfortunately, I can’t invest in him because I am not living in Japan.
From his videos, one of the most important things I have learnt is about luck. As a scientist, I believe God treat us equal. I meant everybody has the same chances. If you toss a coin, there is a 50 per cent chance you can get heads, that is the same for everybody. But in reality, some people are lucky, others are not lucky. At least, some people feel they are lucky, others feel they are not lucky. What is the difference? The answer was easy and it is convincing. Lucky people have the ability or habit to find a chance and can try. But, unlucky people don’t look for chances or misses them. So if you want to be lucky, you should always try to find chances and give a try, and keep trying enough to make you lucky.
And if you feel lucky, that is great. Now you feel you are already lucky, if something does not work, that means that is your fault (because you are lucky). You should try harder or try differently, then you will have more experiences on what you are trying, now your chance to be successful become higher. Now, I feel very fortunate by learning this. I will keep looking for chances and keep trying until I succeed. Let’s have a nice life!
