I just finish up my work on Tuesday. As always, it is a bit behind. I have many presentations this month. I also have experiments to start. Yesterday, I went to the lab to check the instrument, we found many problems but we could start the experiment finally today. Hope we can continue to create new experimental data from now. I am excited to perform many experiments on that instrument.
This morning, I got surprised to see the coal price down like 33%, from 223USD/ton to 150USD/ton? Can this be real? Still higher than the top last 5 years. The coal mining company I was looking at still can make money, but as predicted, the share price of the coal mining company went down like 10%. It has dropped 30% last two weeks for this company. I don’t know what to say. We can’t predict the future, I took too much risk. But anyway, by looking at the price last 5 years, this could be a drop and coal price could stay for a while. The company should be making money comfortably so I hope the coal price stays. Life is not easy. Now I will need to update the information for that company analysis. Some analysis says the coal price plunge is because the Chinese are producing more coal at a historical level and easing the shortage of coal. So the supply meets the demand. I am not sure, I don’t think the coal price is going further, the energy crisis can’t be solved so quickly. Anyways, I need to keep watching.
Other than that, I am writing another book review in Japanese. That book is about “Proposal” written by a former TV producer. Since writing proposals is a part of my job. I was happy to read this book. I have learned a lot. I wrote my understanding and what I learned. I hope I can publish it here very soon. Also, the next company I am working on for Australian share analysis is Uniti Group. I believe this is a growth stock. It seems the growth period stuck like two months. But they are doing very well internal growth after they grew by using M&A. So if they run well at the current level, that company will be great.
I started watching Dynasty on Netflix. From the 1st episode, I love this show. I will keep watching this. I finished watching You on Netflix. I loved that show and I didn’t end as I expected. I am still thinking about the show sometimes. It was crazy but I can’t forget.
From tomorrow, I will start working on a proposal for a neutron scattering study on Japanese swords, for now, the proposal seems not to be welcomed by other scientists. We funded the study through crowdfunding. Now we have to proceed anyhow. The scientific proposal to run the experiment keeps failing now, we might need a different strategy. The problem is we don’t have many places we can perform the experiment because partly Japanese swords are weapons and cultural heritage. We also need neutrons to study these, we can get neutrons only from spallation sources or nuclear research reactors. We don’t have many around the world and neutron beam time is limited. Anyways, we just keep trying.
