Tell me what to do then I will do it.

I have three experiments next three weeks. Two of them are polarised neutron scattering experiments and the other is for neutron inelastic scattering experiment to measure phonon of thermoelectric materials. I am lucky enough to perform these experiments. Hopefully, we will get papers. While I need some time to write my paper.

I am reading Norwegian woods by Haruki Murakami these days. This book is one of my favourite books I have read many times in my life. I know the story but every time I read this book, I can just go back to the imaginary world. This book is about a love story and the story is hopeless however somehow I like this hopeless story. The story calms me down. There could be a love you can never win even how hard you try. Sometimes, the ending has been set from the beginning.

The advancement of the price of coal does not stop. Now, it is about 107.15 USD/ton, which I have never seen. On the other hand, the coal mining company I am looking at is not advancing fast enough, I guess because of SDG, now investors do not like them. But in Asia, coal demands could be still high for one or two decades.

I just learned today Whitehaven coal (WHC: ASX) have welcomed the Federal court ruling dismission an injunction filed for one of their mining extension project. It seems eight teenagers brought the suits because the extension endangers their future. They want to stop the approval of the extension by the Environment minister. For now, Whitehaven is winning but, by reading comments from the judge and one of the teenagers who brought the suits, I want WHC to come up with something to realise offset carbon emission. If they can do it by introducing technology or another section to protect the environment, that would be great. I believe the company is great so I want people to see they are doing something for climate change so everyone can support this company. Especially, the company creates jobs in local erea in Australia. That’s my hope. I will continue to look into this problem. I am a physicist but the cause of climate change is not easy to understand. Currently, people believe human activities and CO2 is responsible for this climate change I don’t fully understand yet. At least, using Coal is not a direct problem, once they can capture CO2 without spreading in the air, it could be fine. And developing counties still need coal while there is countries or regions greatly affected by climate change. It is hard. Anyways, I hope can do something to build sustainable development for everyone on the earth but I just don’t know what to do.
